Sustainability Report: we invest in the present to revolutionize the energy of the future

For the third consecutive year, the Urca Energia Group is publishing its Sustainability Report. Prepared in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) guidelines, the report ensures transparency in presenting our ESG strategy, implemented projects, and results achieved throughout 2024. Our commitment to sustainability is an intrinsic value of our corporate culture, present since the Group's founding. In 2024, we joined efforts to mature our governance, maintaining our commitment to generating sustainable value.

We remain signatories of the UN Global Compact, aligned with the principles of sustainability and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Our business directly contributes to transforming Brazil's energy matrix, preserving the environment and doing good business. We count on our stakeholders — employees, customers, suppliers, and communities — to drive decarbonization for a more sustainable future. For more information about our performance in 2024, we invite you to access the complete Sustainability Report through the links below.

Environment

We Are Signatories of the UN Global Compact

We operate in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), generating clean energy to decarbonize businesses and reduce CO₂ emissions in the atmosphere.

Selo We work to provide our clients with clean energy at a competitive market price.
Selo We generate energy from waste, preventing greenhouse gas emissions.
Selo We eliminate methane from the atmosphere to produce electricity and biofuel.
Selo The silver seal from the GHG Protocol certifies our transparency in emissions reporting.

Gás Verde's Sustainable Cycle

We operate within the concept of a circular economy, transforming methane produced from waste into biomethane. This prevents the emission of polluting gases and reduces companies' reliance on new fossil fuels.

What About Our Emissions?

In 2021, in partnership with BlockC, Brazil's largest carbon project company, we developed the GHG Emissions Inventory for Gás Verde (Seropédica, Nova Iguaçu, and São Gonçalo) following the GHG Protocol methodology. In 2022, we expanded the emissions mapping to all companies within the Urca Energia Group and published this document again on a public platform that consolidates inventories of companies participating in the Brazilian GHG Protocol Program. By 2023, with the acquisition of seven new power generation units for conversion into biomethane, we published the 3rd Emissions Inventory for the Urca Energia Group and achieved the silver seal for all units, demonstrating our commitment to robust and comprehensive reporting on the carbon intensity of our activities.
